Rzeszow Rally
So, we did it! Another rally, this time after a very long break, is in the books, and the memory of roaring engines is still in our heads. Or maybe farting engines? Nah, let's stick with roaring. Just like in the old days, we set off in search of the best spots to get a few good shots. After a quick online search, I picked two locations: one with a double turn in the heart of the village of Gorzejowa, and the other one, well, here. This "here" is so hard to describe, haha. Anyway, both spots were recommended by the organizers as interesting places.
And the first location... well. Security hemmed us in within a specific framework, and there was no escape. Literally! After half an hour, I had no idea what else I could do to make the shots look different. A small, personal defeat for a photographer. But it's okay, it's not the first time. Even on the way to the rally, I was saying to myself, "we'll see if there's anything to even show online, or if all the photos will be identical, just like before." Luckily, I had a backup plan B, which was the second spot. And the second spot was a completely different story! Fields, open spaces, freedom. I had complete liberty to look for angles and take photos from different sides and distances. But heads up, here's a piece of advice worth its weight in gold: wear hiking boots when you go into the fields! Otherwise, you'll end up with ankles horribly scratched by mown wheat or some other grains. I speak from my own painful experience. By the way, speaking of fields, it's a good thing the harvest is over, because otherwise, more than one farmer would probably chase us away with a pitchfork!
And what about the rally itself? Did Mr. X win? Or Ms. Y? I have no idea! Seriously, I don't follow the results. Heck, I don't even know what the categories were. But my attention was captured by some of the historical rally cars with yellow license plates. Although... is a Peugeot 207 with yellow plates already a historical vehicle? I remember when this model was released! But there were also some gems, like the Saab from the last photo. Isn't it gorgeous?
