Anditodum Air Show, Leszno

I'll start this post with these words: folks, what a shame you couldn't see it! On Saturday, 40,000 spectators showed up at the Leszno airfield, but statistically, that's only one in every thousand Poles. So, all in all, there are still some million reasons to upload these photos online, not to mention all from other countries, including you! And there is plenty to upload!

This year's airshow in Leszno was a survival test—for the people and for the equipment. The heat pouring from the sky was so intense, you got the impression that not only the ice cream in cups but also the wings of the planes were about to melt. Clouds? What are those? The clouds must have gotten lost and never arrived. For a photographer, conditions like these are hardcore. The sun was shining directly into the lens, as the spectator area was on the east side of the runway along which the planes flew. As a result, they turned into dark silhouettes against a scorched, washed-out sky. I was squinting, the autofocus struggled to lock on just like my own eyes, and sweat was pouring down my forehead in streams. But you know what? It was worth it! Especially when the golden hour arrived. Suddenly, everything turned into a magical spectacle. The helicopters and fighter jets looked as if they were lifted straight from the set of a Vietnam War movie! A few photos from that part of the day have that unique, warm, almost desert-like vibe. And for dessert? The night shows!

Now, all that's left is to wait for the next shows. In just two months, we'll see each other in Radom! I'm already rubbing my hands together and sharpening my lens!
