Flying dogs, Wroclaw

If you've been following my blog for a while, you probably know there's one event that pulls me in like a magnet almost every year. I'm talking, of course, about "Flying dogs" event in Wroclaw. Yes, dogs that fly! Or rather, they are in mid-flight, catching a frisbee with a grace that's hard to describe in words.

I've been going to Wrocław for over 10 years now. And you know what? Every single time, this event fascinates me just as much! It's simply a spectacle, a festival of energy and joy, both for the dogs and the humans. And of course, for the photographers!

I've written more than once that capturing these canine sprinters in flight is a "Mission: Impossible" level challenge. These adorable beasts are fast, agile, and unpredictable. But when you manage to capture that one, perfect moment—when the dog is in the air, fur flowing, eyes locked on the disc—for me, that's pure euphoria! The satisfaction from a shot like that is simply out of this world. It makes up for all the missed frames, which I can't even count. Heck, it even makes up for waking up at 4 AM to get to Wrocław's Park Południowy by 10 AM.

This year, the weather wasn't very kind to us, especially on the first day. It rained for a large part of the event, sometimes quite heavily. But did that stop us, the flying dog fanatics? Not one bit. Camera in hand, butt on a stool, and off we went, hunting for those magical shots.

And you know what? Despite the rain, or perhaps because of it, I broke my own record. For the first time ever at a single event, I filled up my 128 GB memory card. One hundred and twenty-eight GIGABYTES of photos of dogs in flight! I think that speaks for itself, right?

But enough talk. I'm already counting down the days until next year. Wroclaw and flying dogs – I'll see you there for sure!
